Description
The Seigaiha Cuff Bracelet is built around a traditional Japanese wave motif composed of repeating, overlapping arcs. Embossed across the metal, the pattern creates a rhythmic surface that changes with the light and follows the curve of the wrist.
Each bracelet begins as a substantial piece of 14-gauge metal. The pattern is embossed into the surface before the cuff is individually formed and finished by hand. Measuring approximately 21 mm at its widest point, the bracelet has a noticeable physical presence while remaining comfortable for everyday wear.
The sterling silver versions are accented with 24K gold using the traditional Korean keum-boo technique, which bonds thin layers of pure gold to the silver. The placement of the gold accents varies slightly from one bracelet to another, giving each cuff its own composition.
Metal and Finish Options
- Oxidized sterling silver with 24K gold keum-boo: Bright gold accents set against a deeply darkened silver surface.
- Bright sterling silver with 24K gold keum-boo: Warm gold accents against the natural luminosity of sterling silver.
- Oxidized copper: Raised copper waves contrasted against a darkened background.
- Brass: A warm, golden metal with the embossed pattern carried continuously across the surface.
Sizing
Bracelet size refers to the length of the metal cuff. Each size is formed with the following opening:
- 5.5-inch cuff — approximately 1-inch opening
- 6-inch cuff — approximately 1.25-inch opening
- 6.5-inch cuff — approximately 1.5-inch opening
- 7-inch cuff — approximately 1.5-inch opening
To determine your size, measure snugly around your wrist between the wrist bones and the hand, then subtract approximately ½ inch. For example, a wrist measuring 6 inches will generally fit a 5.5-inch cuff.
Custom sizing is available. Please contact me before ordering if you need a size not listed or would like help determining the best fit.
